PRADA TAKES OVER GALERIES LAFAYETTE

Pradarecently announced a collaboration with historic Paris department store Galeries Lafayetteon a tropical pop-up titled Hyper Leaves. The luxury fashion house took over two areas of the store for the nature-inspired retail installation, which includes a custom-built pavilion, massive neon baobab tree and plenty of oversized tropical leaves. Predominately neon green, the pop-up is dedicated to displaying the brand’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection, from clothing to footwear. Throughout both spaces, giant leaves are turned into product displays and benches and green carpeting leads visitors from product to product. The women’s pop-up is primarily housed in a custom green pavilion made from metal mesh and neon lights. Meanwhile, the men’s space features a giant artificial baobab tree, also made with painted metal mesh and neon lights. Both attractions are lit up with bold neon signs in the shape of Prada’s logo. Footwear styles from Prada’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection is available alongside clothing, many of which are cleverly placed at the base of the baobab tree. Most notably, two footwear styles previewed during the recent Prada Fall/Winter 2020 menswear show, will be exclusively on view at the store as a preview launch. SPOTTED: QUAVO & TAKEOFF ATTEND LOUIS VUITTON MENSWEAR SHOW IN PARIS

Kaleidoscope Louis. Always an event to draw a few celebrity attendees, Louis Vuitton Menswear presented their latest Virgil Abloh designed collection yesterday with American rappers Quavo and Takeoff amongst those who came out to see the show. Both donning head-to-toe ensembles from the brand, Quavo arrived in a pale green jacket with floral embellishments, a printed tee, khaki trousers and purple suede trainers, with Takeoff opting for some similarly new season wares in the form of a colourful graphic sweatshirt, beige trousers and blue trainers. THE BMW TUPAC WAS FATALLY SHOT IN EXPECTED TO REACH $1.75 MILLION AT AUCTION

The car that Tupac Shakur was fatally shot in is being sold for $1.75 million. The black BMW 750Li is currently listed for auction at Celebrity Cars Las Vegas and has (for the most part) been fully restored to its original condition. According to the listing, this is the first time the car has been up for sale since Tupac’s death in 1996. He was shot in the chest, arm, and thigh, as he and Suge Knight (who was driving) stopped at a red light after watching the Bruce Seldon vs. Mike Tyson boxing match at Las Vegas’ MGM. The car was originally leased by Death Row Records. Celebrity Cars Las Vegas notes that “there is a small indentation where we believe one of the bullet holes” but other than that, the car “runs great and is in excellent condition.” Take a closer look at the vehicle via the video below.

LOUIS VUITTON OPENS MEN'S SS20 POP-UP AT SELFRIDGES

o mark the arrival of its Spring/Summer 2020 menswear collection, Louis Vuitton has opened the doors to a new pop-up inside Selfridges. The temporary space continues the collection’s themes and inspiration, with pieces including ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes and accessories presented in a field of wild flowers. The collection’s floral influence is described as a “naturally occurring metaphor for diversity” by the label. Referencing this inspiration, Louis Vuitton will also release an exclusive “Keepall 50 Flowers” at the Selfridges store. The made-to-order bag is fully embroidered and features an array of individually handmade flowers. The Louis Vuitton space is situated on the Selfridges ground floor, and is open now until March 2020. In other fashion news, Virgil Abloh and Louis Vuitton also recently released the first installment of the label’s SS20 campaign. The glare-proof sapphire crystal and caseback ensure 50 m water-resistance while framing the silver-toned “Grande Tapisserie pattern dial and self-winding movement.
