LV PRE-FALL 2020 IMAGINES A "WEARABLE LIBRARY" OF ROMANTIC NOVELS

Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton‘s artistic director of womenswear, has enlisted the talents of the house’s many muses for its Pre-Fall 2020 campaign, which taps into the timeless camp of pulp novels. Romance, horror and sci-fi-themed book covers are dreamed up as the base of the campaign, with each model dudded up in appropriately retro-indebted wares to tie in with the motif. Each entry in the “wearable library” is paired with one or two model; Jaden Smith stars in Lost Planet, Angelica Ross is locked in The Escape Room, Alicia Vikander hides in The Wicked Mirror and both Billie Lourd and Cody Fern take center stage in Secret Spell. Playful taglines accompany each image (“The dead bite back!” “Guess who? The past, that’s who!”), reinforcing nostalgia for Goosebumps books and Fabio-fronted romance novels. Taking the theme a step further, Louis Vuitton has produced a special T-shirt emblazoned with the cover of William Peter Blatty’s original The Exorcist.

MOTOROLA WILL LAUNCH ITS RAZR FLIP PHONE IN FEB 2020

UPDATE: Following a slight delay last month, Motorola’s foldable RAZR now has a February 6 release date, with preorders starting on January 26. The preorder date was originally planned for December 26, exactly one month ago. The slight delay for the RAZR’s release came due to a high demand for the handheld, which Motorola hadn’t anticipated. It will be available for $1,499 USD. UPDATE (December 24, 2019): According to new reports, Motorola‘s upcoming RAZR flip phone is now being delayed due to an unexpectedly high demand and low supply. The remake of the cult classic was originally slated for release on January 9, 2020, with pre-orders available from December 26, but these dates have now been pushed back by the tech company. While they didn’t provide a new timeline for the smartphone’s release, Motorola insists that it doesn’t expect a “significant shift.” ORIGINAL STORY (November 14, 2019): Earlier this year, the Internet was flooded with rumors that Motorola would be bringing back its iconic RAZR flip phone, however updated with a folding LCD screen to compete in today’s smartphone landscape. Today Motorola has officially unveiled its new flagship model.   Can’t wait to get your hands on #razr? ❤️ this tweet to get a reminder from @motorolaUS when razr goes on pre-sale. #feeltheflip pic.twitter.com/TW9sWZZ9lc — Motorola US (@MotorolaUS) January 14, 2020   The updated RAZR flip phone has now been turned into an Android smartphone that can fold in half. The 2019 iteration keeps some of the same aspects that made it so popular in the early 2000s, but has replaced the T9 keypad and small LCD with a 6.2-inch foldable plastic OLED panel and Android 9 Pie, in addition to a 2.7-inch Quick View display. In place of the phone’s curved bottom, the modern update houses a fingerprint sensor and a USB-C charging port. In terms of specs, the 2019 RAZR is equipped with a Snapdragon 710 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB internal storage. The phone also features a 16MP front-facing camera, f/1.7 with Night Vision mode, a 5MP internal camera, and 2510mAh battery. This isn’t the first time Motorola has tried to bring back the iconic RAZR branding. A few years ago the company introduced the generic Droid RAZR phones with little success. Interested readers will be able to pre-order the updated Motorola RAZR flip phone this December for $1499.99 USD (or $62.49 USD/month on Verizon‘s 24 month contract). The phone will then be released in the US in January 2020. Additional pricing is yet to be announced for its availability in the UK, EU, Latin America, Asia and Australia.   Dit bericht bekijken op Instagram So the RAZR is back! Video in the works... DIOR MEN'S TO RELEASE CLOTHING, ACCESSORIES & AN AJ1 LOW WITH JORDAN BRAND

Dior Men’s is gearing up to launch a full collection of clothing and accessories with Jordan Brand. The clothing will mesh Dior’s expert tailoring with a distinct eighties-inspired American sportswear feel. The core line-up includes a gray suit with Air Dior logo buttons; silk shorts decorated with a graphic motif featuring the “CD” initials; a new version of the Jordan Wings MA-1 bomber jacket that reprises the emblem on its back and displays the Jumpman logo on its sleeve; and a gray, handmade in Italy, suede hoodie. There will also be smaller pieces such as socks, silk squares, a sweatband, chain pendants, a tie, a bucket hat, and various leather accouterments. Sneakerheads, meanwhile, will delight at the news that a low version of Dior x Air Jordan 1 will be introduced. But don’t go getting too excited just yet. As per WWD, the range will be produced in limited qualities and only available at less than a dozen locations worldwide. In other words, getting your hands on it might prove a difficult task. Martin Lotti, vice president of design at Jordan Brand, confirmed to WWD that the internet-breaking Dior x Air Jordan 1 will only be produced in the “thousands.” The project marks the first time Jordan has officially teamed up with a luxury fashion brand, although it has released shoes with big names such as COMME des GARÇONS in the past. Furthermore, the Nike sub-label will remix its iconic Wings logo for the first time as it bids to position itself in the “streetwear luxury” sector. According to Lotti — and this is interesting — we can expect to see more collaborations of a similar ilk in the future. “The clothes are based on Michael Jordan’s off-court style. He wore suits all the time – I love that,” Kim Jones, creative director at Dior Men’s, told WWD. “I like the fact that we’re doing something that’s extremely unexpected in terms of clothing.” The world’s of luxury and sportswear are more closely aligned than ever before. Revisit the biggest trends that dominated the last decade.

BANG & OLUFSEN REFINES MINIMALISM FURTHER WITH LUXE "CONTRAST COLLECTION"

High-end sound company Bang & Olufsenhas enlisted its fellow Danish design label Norm Architectsfor an eight-piece, limited-edition release called the “Contrast Collection.” In the “Contrast Collection,” the the two brands have studied the combination of contrasting materials and tactile surfaces. As it states in its press release, Bang & Olufsen explores the “minimal and expressive, rough and smooth, light and dark, silence and loudness, harmony and noise.” Keeping in tune with the typically minimalist approach we’ve come to expect from the two imprints, the “Contrast Collection” is made up of various muted shades of grey, complemented with brown leather and wood tones on equipment including the Beoplay A1 and the Beoplay A9. Its exploration of contrasting materials resulted in the duo experimenting with aluminum. As a result, pieces that were once shiny and almost mirror-like have been treated to deliver warm and soft hues, developed at the anodizing treatment facility at Bang & Olufsen headquarters. Completing these unique designs is a reimagined sound-transparent wool fabric covering the speakers. This collection now utilizes a wool and viscose fabric blend that originates from Kvadrat’s Hallingdal Fabric — the same company that provides all of Bang & Olufsen’s standard speaker coverings. The collection is comprised of the Beoplay A1, Beoplay H9, Beoplay A9, Beosound Stage, the modular Beosound Shape, the Beosound Edge, and two premium portable speakers, the Beosound 1 and 2. Prices range from $250 USD to $3,800 USD, with all pieces available to purchase onlineand at B&O boutiques now.
