Snoop Dogg Announces New Album 'Missionary' Produced by Dr. Dre

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are officially reuniting for Snoop’s upcoming album, Missionary. The Long Beach rapper confirmed the news during his recent appearance on Stephen A. Smith’s Know Mercy podcast, “You’re the first one to hear this: Me and Dr. Dre have been working on an album for the past two months, and it’ll be done in November.” He continued, “And it’s produced by Dr. Dre. It’s our 30th anniversary to Doggystyle. And the name of the album is Missionary.” When asked about the title, Snoop simply responded, “The first album was Doggystyle.” Rumors of Dr. Dre and Snoop’s return to music have been more commonplace than ever; earlier this April, shortly after Snoop officially became the owner of Death Row Records, the two shared photos of them in the studio. “The Chronic is bac home,” Snoop wrote on Instagram, leading many to believe that they were working on something big. Doggystyle marked Snoop’s debut studio album and was released in November 1993 under Death Row Records and Interscope. Dr. Dre served as producer following the young rapper’s major appearance on The Chronic, and it went on to debut at No. 1 and become one of hip-hop’s most esteemed records. Stay tuned for an official release date.

Jeffrey Dahmer's Prison-Worn Glasses Goes on Sale for $150,000 USD

The eyeglasses that serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer wore in prison is going up for sale for $150,000 USD. The item is being sold by Taylor James of Cult Collectibles in Vancouver, Canada who claims that he acquired the glasses and several other items of the Milwaukee Cannibal from the former housekeeper of Dahmer’s father, Lionel. The collection, which also includes Dahmer’s cutlery, bible, family photos and several paperwork, is now being managed and sold by James for a portion of the profit. TMZ reports that although the website does not feature the glasses, those who are interested can contact Taylor directly. Jeffrey Dahmer became a fixture in pop culture once again due to Ryan Murphy’s Monster Netflix series, which stars Evan Peters as the notorious serial killer. Despite the renewed interest, however, many have reacted negatively to the show. Rapper Boosie Badazz tweeted about how Black people should boycott Monster because “WHAT HE DID TO OUR BLACK KIDS IS F*CKING SICK,” while Rita Isbell, the sister of Errol Lindsey — a 19-year-old victim of Dahmer’s — criticized Netflix for failing to reach out the victim’s families and accused the streamer of “making money off of this tragedy”: “When I saw some of the show, it bothered me, especially when I saw myself — when I saw my name come across the screen and this lady saying verbatim exactly what I said. If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve thought it was me. Her hair was like mine, she had on the same clothes. That’s why it felt like reliving it all over again. It brought back all the emotions I was feeling back then. I was never contacted about the show. I feel like Netflix should’ve asked if we mind or how we felt about making it. They didn’t ask me anything. They just did it. But I’m not money hungry, and that’s what this show is about, Netflix trying to get paid.” Dahmer murdered and dismembered a total of 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991, most of whom were Black or Brown. Monster explores the killings of his victims and how both homophobia (Dahmer was a gay man) and racism enabled him to commit these crimes for years.

TikTok Users Can Now Downvote Comments With New ‘Dislike’ Button

TikTok users can now share their disapproval for a comment under creators’ content. The social media platform has launched a dislike button for comments in an attempt to give creators greater control over their comment section by allowing other user to identify comments that may be inappropriate or hurtful. The dislike button takes the form of a thumbs down and is situated next to the regular heart-shaped like button. Similar to a like, users can tap on the icon and can also take back their dislike by tapping on it once again. The number of dislikes on a comment won’t be publicly shown, only the user who delivered a dislike on a comment will be able to see that they have done so.   “This community feedback will add to the range of factors we already use to help keep the comment section consistently relevant and a place for genuine engagement,” TikTok said. The company began testing the feature earlier this year as a part of its ongoing effort to moderate potentially harmful content. Disliked comments will appear further down in the comment section and thus will be less visible to both creators and viewers.

Rihanna To Headline Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show

Rihanna will perform at next year’s Super Bowl LVII halftime show. The performance is sponsored by Apple Music and is scheduled to go down at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on February 12. The NFL announced the news on Sunday afternoon by sharing an image of the singer’s distinctly-tattooed hand holding a football with the caption, “Let’s GO.” The football league also changed its Twitter and Instagram bios to pay homage to Rihanna, reading, “national fenty league.”   Last season saw an especially rap-heavy roster of performers. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak took the field at Inglewood, California’s SoFi Stadium with a high-energy montage of songs. “We are thrilled to welcome Rihanna to the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show stage,” NFL head of music Seth Dudowsky said in a statement. “Rihanna is a once in a generation artist who has been a cultural force throughout her career. We look forward to collaborating with Rihanna, Roc Nation and Apple Music to bring fans another historic Halftime Show performance.” Not only will it be Rihanna’s first time performing at the Super Bowl, but it’ll also be her first public performance in five years, following her rendition of “Wild Thoughts” with DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller at the 2018 GRAMMYs. While Rihanna has taken a step back from music over the past few years, the singer confirmed to Vogue earlier this year that she was working on a reggae album, a long-awaited follow-up to 2016’s ANTI.
