Its high desirability is made clear by the dedication of the rapper/designer’s Windy City fans, who’ve faithfully followed the trucks down the street in temperatures that creep close to single digits. For those who can’t or won’t brave the cold, the YEEZY QNTM is also set to release exclusively in Chicago on All-Star Sunday, February 16, at retail locations like the adidas Chicago flagship, Tony’s Sports and Notre. VIRGIL ABLOH TEASES A WHITE ITERATION OF THE OFF-WHITE™ x NIKE AIR JORDAN 5

After dropping the highly-anticipated Off-White™ x Nike Air Jordan 5 yesterday, it seems Virgil Abloh is already gearing up for another Jordan release. The Off-White™ founder just teased an off-white colorway of the brand new Air Jordan 5 on his Instagram. The unseen cream-colored iteration of the Off-White™ x Air Jordan 5, is otherwise identical to yesterday’s release. The sneaker sports a mainly off-white colorway, with red accents on the Jumpman branding and sole, hints of silver along the tongue and circular windows around the mid panel and ankle collar. Abloh also shared a video of him assembling the shoe, complete with the customary zip-tie. Mysteriously captioned with the phrase “plot twist,” we’re left to wonder whether this AJ 5 is just a custom pair, or if the post hints at a possible wider release in the future. WHATSAPP PASSES 2 BILLION USERS WOLDWIDE

For the first time in two years, Facebook-owned WhatsApp has revealed its user numbers. The company disclosed in a blog post that it has officially reached over two billion users worldwide, which is around half a billion less users than Facebook itself has. WhatsApp CEO Will Cathcart told The Wall Street Journal in a recent interview that WhatsApp would continue to operate separately than Facebook for the most part. The blog post addressed concerns surrounding the app’s encryption service, stating that “strong encryption is a necessity in modern life” and ensuring that it will continue to offer end-to-end encryption. “We will not compromise on security because that would make people less safe,” explained the post. “For even more protection, we work with top security experts, employ industry leading technology to stop misuse as well as provide controls and ways to report issues — without sacrificing privacy.” Regardless of concerns surrounding privacy, it is clear WhatsApp’s ability to connect users across the globe is appreciated by its two billion users and counting.

THE WEEKND ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM "AFTER HOURS"

Following a pair of singles, The Weeknd announces his long-awaited new album, After Hours. The LP will serve as his fourth studio album and a followup to 2016’s Starboy. The Weeknd took to social media to announce the title of his new album, sharing an official teaser on Instagram. A release date has yet to be revealed, but according to a press release, the project is “coming soon” via XO Records/Republic Records. After Hours will feature the R&B superstar’s two platinum singles, “Heartless” and “Blinding Lights,” the former of which previously hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The Weeknd recently delivered performances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel Live!, while also starring in the new Mercedes-Benz EQC campaign, which he soundtracked and creative directed as well.
