Take a Closer Look at Louis Vuitton's 2022 FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Trunk

Last night, the Argentinian football team displayed an unforgettable match with an incredible win over France in the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ final. One of the best World Cup finals ended in a penalty shoot-out which saw Argentina take home the win, cementing Lionel Messi’s historic legacy with his final World Cup appearance. The team was greeted with the iconic gilded trophy, which they rose high with excitement and honor on the field. To present the prize, Louis Vuitton (PARIS:MC.PA -0.88%) teamed up with FIFA for the fourth consecutive championship to craft the trunk in which the trophy was delivered. The display case features a titanium build and was custom-made by the Louis Vuitton team in its Asnières atelier. The trunk is designed with the Maison’s tonal monogram pattern throughout and boasts premium hardware for a sleek finish. The design sees brown leather perimeters and corner shields while a debossed Louis Vuitton badge sits on the base of the black pedestal inside.

Tiffany & Co. Drops $215,000 USD Pavé Diamond Race Car Clock

Tiffany & Co. has a knack for producing wild gifts around this time of year — cast your mind back to last year’s Supreme collaboration or the time it dropped a $112,000 USD advent calendar if you need reminding. Well, now it ups the ante with another masterpiece creation, introducing its “Time For Speed” collection with a $215,000 USD Race Car Clock. Of course, this is not just any old mantlepiece stunner. Instead, it comes in the patented shade of Tiffany Blue that decorates the clock’s aluminum body. The paint is also of the same standard used on real cars, while the addition of diamonds is something you may not typically find. Indeed, round brilliant diamonds with a total carat weight of 19.53 lbs have been placed onto the clock by hand, decorating the clock’s bezel and engraving plate in a pavé fashion. A brushed stainless steel aperture displays the hours and minutes, while components like the escapement and balance wheel are showcased under a helmet-shaped dome on the top of the clock. Clock maintenance has been made fun as, to wind up the movement, you need to pull the car back on a flat surface — just like a childhood toy. Likewise, the time is set using the steering wheel. For those who want to drop less money, Tiffany & Co. has also produced a sans-diamond version of the clock that retails for $40,000 USD. Take a closer look at the piece above, and find out more online.

LOUIS VUITTON SNOWBOARDS

Nine days out from winter's onset, you may be looking forward to heading out on a snowsports holiday. Bags packed, goggles at the ready; be warned, after eyeballing Louis Vuitton's limited-edition Virgil Abloh-designed marble snowboards, you may suddenly feel woefully unprepared. A year on from the tragic loss of Virgil Abloh, we've continued to see a steady stream of products reach the market. Showcasing just how deep the roots of his design work ran, we've received a slew of new Off-White x Nike styles and silhouettes, co-creations with LORENZ.OG, projects, and installations such as those seen at Art Basel, and now, snowboards. Whether you choose to tackle the slopes on sticks or a board, there's nothing quite like being the envy of the resort as you flex your new gear. I mean, I assume so; I've been skiing once, and it's safe to say my skills are subpar. That being said, I'm sure the more skillful snow sportsmen and women out there could put the late Abloh's marble snowboard to good work. Created by Virgil as part of the Louis Vuitton Winter 2022 collection (and available to shop now for an eyewatering $7,450.00), the green marble snowboard is limited to 100 numbered units. Undeniably aesthetic, the striking pieces feature a classic camber and a progressive tip, well-suited for carving and riding in deep powder. Keen eyes will recall the pattern work from the LV Men's FW21 show, which featured a marble stage.

Portugal Coach Fernando Santos Says He Doesn't Regret Benching Cristiano Ronaldo

Following Morocco’s upset defeat of Portugal at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Portugal’s Head Coach Fernando Santos shares that he has “no regrets” about not starting Cristiano Ronaldo. The soccer star only made his way on the field during the 51st minute as his team was trailing 1-0. Earlier in the tournament being held in Qatar, Ronaldo was played as a substitute during Portugal’s 6-1 win over Switzerland during Round of 16 play. Santos noted that the level of play that he saw from the Portugal team pushed him to keep the same lineup for the Quarterfinal game that loss. “I don’t think so, no regrets,” said Santos. “I think this was a team which played very well against Switzerland. Cristiano Ronaldo is a great player, he came in when we thought it was necessary, so no regrets.” Adding, “If we take two persons that were the most upset it is Cristiano Ronaldo and myself. Of course, we are upset, but that is part of the job of the coach and the player.” During the elimination game against Morocco, Portugal only managed three shots on target when looking to tie the game. Ronaldo’s teammate Bruno Fernandes was highly critical of Argentinian referee Facundo Tello following the game. “I don’t know if they’re going to give the cup to Argentina,” Fernandes said. “I don’t care, I’m going to say what I think and screw them. It’s very strange that a referee from a team that’s still in the cup officiates us. They’ve clearly tilted the field against us.” Portuguese player Pepe also discussed Tello’s officiating, ”We dominated the game 100 percent of the time. I think what the referee did today; this is an Argentinian referee. After what Messi said yesterday it seems there’s something very weird. We couldn’t play in the second half because the referee kept stopping the game. I’m very angry, very angry because the referee didn’t let us play.” Though Santo chose to keep the discussion about his team’s play rather than the referee on the field, leaving his future as Head Coach unknown, “I think we could have done more and we failed to do so, so I don’t think we should blame the referee. I reiterate what I said before the competition, I have a discussion with the President and when we go back to Portugal we will deal with the issue of my contract.”

SZA Announces Release Date of New Album 'S.O.S.'

SZA‘s highly-anticipated album S.O.S. has officially received a release date. The TDE artist confirmed that her sophomore effort is scheduled to drop December 9 and shared an accompanying visual to “Blind,” a track that she debuted during her Saturday Night Live performance over the weekend. SZA’s previous singles like “Shirt” and “Good Days” are expected to be part of the upcoming album, but a tracklist and list of guest features are yet to be revealed. S.O.S. is the followup to 2017’s Ctrl and has been described by Billboard as “the most captivating music she has ever made, her beloved lo-fi beats sharing space with surf rock within the same track, a grunge record and an acoustic guitar-driven ballad coexisting without either sounding out of place.” SZA also opened up about the stress she feels with all the red tape as the release date of the album draws nearer, “I hate the red tape analytics of dropping anything — it’s so stressful.” She continued, “I definitely have heard [the term ‘digital service provider’] more this week and last week than I have ever. I don’t like the way it sounds — it sounds stressful and like something that requires a lot of attention and maneuvering. I hate the word ‘single.’ It’s like, ‘What the f–k separates a single from other sh-t on my album that I like? Why does it have to be different?’ SZA’s S.O.S. drops December 9.
