TA-KU UNVEILS NEW LABEL 823 "TIME STANDS STILL" CAPSULEl

With the myriad of creative endeavors already under Ta-ku‘s belt, the artist has unveiled the latest capsule from his new label 823.

Founded by Ta-ku and Ben Wright, 823’s ethos centers around an appreciation for the simple beauty of everyday life, inspiring various garments, recordings, prints and other objects the label releases. Dubbed “Time Stands Still,” the latest capsule tells the story of a couple in the days before a long-distance separation and the fleetingness of time. The name of the capsule is emblazoned throughout an assemblage of monochromatic T-shirts and hoodies, a dedicated zine and limited-edition clock.

Made in Sweden, one standout piece is the clock, etched with thick black details over a crisp white base. Westerstrand branding is placed below the 12 o’clock, followed by the words “Time” at nine o’clock, “Stands” at six and “Still” at three. As a finishing touch, a thin red second-hand is offset against the stout minute and hour hands for visual balance. Another highlight is a black T-shirt emblazoned with the aforementioned words, juxtaposed with a square print of a shadowed person – the white T-shirt shows an empty void with the person missing, while the grey hoodie depicts two people holding hands. A zine with a series of images rounds out the concise range.
