Nike's World Cup Kits Are Here

It only seems like yesterday that the entirety of England was bellowing Baddiel and Skinner’s Three Lions on repeat, as the country – not only buoyed by good football but also the fact pubs were open post-COVID – entered a month of chaos which, ultimately, ended in football staying away from home (for now). Anyway, unbelievably, it’s almost tournament time again, as a historic and controversial winter World Cup is set to commence in Qatar on November 20, with the host nation facing Ecuador in the opening game. Now, just over two months out, Nike Football has revealed the majority of its roster of kits which, for the first time, sees more than 75% of the entire collection made with 100% recycled polyester. Alongside tournament favorites like Brazil, France, Portugal, and Netherlands, Nike has also unveiled strips for Qatar, Poland, Canada, and Saudi Arabia, amongst others. Standouts include Portugal’s away kit, Brazil’s flag-inspired home jersey, and, of course, the French, whose kits are inspired by a fusion of the country’s heritage and future, whatever that means. The USA collection is also an interesting one, taking notes from the its diverse and storied sport legacy. Both the home and away jerseys boast an enlarged center crest akin to basketball styles, with the unique shoulder and sleeve cut-and-sew construction and pattern of a hockey jersey. Despite not being officially revealed until September 21, images of England’s home and away kits have also begun surfacing online, and it looks to be business as usual, with white and red dominating the jerseys respectively. The World Cup is just 65 days away at the time of writing. Maybe it’s time you start asking yourself that age old question again: will football come home this time? Probably not, but it’ll be fun anyway.

In a recent interview with Real 92.3 Los Angeles, Puff first revealed that somebody tried to “jerk” him but he fortunately managed to fix the issue. ”I’m actually one of the executive producers of Nipsey Hussle’s last album,” he affirmed. “A lot of people don’t know this, we got them to change it in Wikipedia. Somebody at the label tried to leave my name out but he came to me and said, ‘I want you to be a part of helping me finish up this album.’” “That’s why I have so much footage of us in the studio because the last five days of him finishing the album, he said, ‘Would you come on as one of the executive producers?’” he added. ”We had started really getting extra close and tight and then everything happened.” Diddy also opened up about the late artist’s willingness to learn anything and everything about the industry — an attitude he admired. “Nip had no ego,” he shared. “Nip came to me saying, ‘I want you to mentor me, I want to get into real estate. Hot on the heels of Telfar's massive Shopping Bag sale, held at Brooklyn's Rainbow clothing store during New York Fashion Week, the brand will host another blowout shopping event, this time online. On September 23 at 12 p.m. ET, shoppers can head to Telfar's website for their choice of Shopping Bag in any size and color (take your pick from all 37). Drake Shares His Angry DMs With YouTube Music Critic Anthony Fantano

Earlier this week, YouTube music critic Anthony “The Internet’s Busiest Music Nerd” Fantano of TheNeedleDrop posted a video titled “Drake Slid Into My DMs.” In the video, Fantano shared messages reportedly from Drake that show the artist trying to get on better terms, oddly sharing a vegan cookie recipe. In an unexpected response, the Canadian artist shared a screenshot of his actual DMs with Anthony Fantano. Drake writes, “Your existence is a light 1,” referencing TheNeedleDrop’s signature album review descriptions. Finishing his message with the line, “I’m feeling a light to decent 1 on your existence.” The messages seem to be a direct response and build-up to Fantano’s less-than-stellar reviews of Drake’s recent album releases. TheNeedleDrop’s reviews of Honestly, Nevermind, Certified Lover Boy, and Scorpion all scored less than a “light 4.” Despite all of the attention, Fantano appears to be reveling in the attention he is receiving touching on the situation in a series of posts on Instagram and Twitter.

Drake Teases More Zoom Flight 95-Inspired NOCTA x Nike Collaborations

Nike and its roster of musical talent arguably sits at the top of the sneaker industry, and one artist that has been generating some waves is Drake. The OVO rapper’s output alongside the Swoosh has been comprised of various sneaker and apparel releases, and the former is slated to expand soon with the launch of a new Zoom Flight 95-Inspired NOCTA x Nike silhouette. After being spotted rocking a black and white pair courtside at a Raptors game earlier this year, the hit-making emcee has just previewed a duo of new colorways. During his trip to Nike WHQ for the company’s Just Do It event, Drizzy snapped a photo of what appears to be a red and black iteration as well as a “Triple White” offering. The overall shape, materials and construction is very similar to the Nike Zoom Flight 95, but they carry certain design differences that allow them to stand on their own. Side panels swap out the curvy overlays for a sleeker panel, the collars have been fitted with additional molds and the rear ends of the bulbous midsoles have added an extra mold. If you zoom in closely on the bug-eye attachments, you’ll notice that they’ve been accessorized with debossed NOCTA branding. No release info has been announced yet, but it’s likely that we could see these launching later this year or early next 2023.
