SUPREME & LACOSTE COMBINE FOR A NEW AUTUMN/WINTER COLLECTION

Third collab of the year. Back with a new collaboration, the third one of the year, Supreme taps Lacoste for a hybrid skateboarding and tennis-inspired collection. Following up their 2017 collection drop, the latest offering for Autumn 2019 features Half-zip pullover, matching track pants, Pique Long Sleeve Polos also with matching pants, two-toned shorts, co-branded hoodies, and joggers, alongside accessory pieces like 6-Panel Hats, Beanies and Messenger Bags all in muted colours. Stand out pieces in the collection include a Wool Bomber Jacket that’s embroidered with a Green Crocodile on the rear, as well as referee inspired striped Cardigans emblazoned with “Lacoste” and “Supreme” on the front. Dropping September 26th, you’ll be able to pick the Supreme x Lacoste Autumn 2019 collection online, as well as in-store. LOUIS VUITTON DROPS “NEW CLASSICS” ACCESSORIES COLLECTION

Designed by Virgil Abloh. While Virgil Abloh takes a break as per doctors orders, Louis Vuitton just released its “New Classic” collection, packed with classic LV designs reworked under the supervision of Virgil Abloh. Donning the luxury house’s Eclipse Monogram, the New Classic collection features four small leather goods such as the Pochette Volga, Steamer PM, Soft Trunk and Mini Soft Trunk, all in the iconic pattern and shades of grey. With contemporary shapes, the reworked collection features modern details that include metallic finishings, supple leather and chain hardware, as well as detachable chain handles which appear on the Pochette Volga option. GUCCI PLANS CARBON NEUTRAL MILAN FASHION WEEK SHOW

Style & Sustainability. Always a label making moves in the right direction, Gucci recently announced their next eco-friendly plan to make their pending Milan Fashion Week show entirely carbon-neutral. Part of a wider project across the company to ensure better environmental practice, the show’s carbon footprint will be offset by methods such as the use of recycled wood in set design and Forest Stewardship Council certified paper invites. Speaking to the New York Times on the plans, Gucci Chief Executive Marco Bizzarri elaborated; “The only way we can have zero emissions is to shut our business. At the end of the day, our company makes things, and we employ thousands of people with families and communities to do that. We need to think up the best ways of supporting our employees to do their jobs in the most sustainable way possible.” Gucci’s Milan show will take place in the Italian fashion capital later this month.

JADEN SMITH IS OPENING A SELFRIDGES POP-UP THIS MONTH

Less than a week to go... Arriving on UK shores, Jaden Smith has announced the arrival of a pop-up store set to open in Selfridges London later this month. Setting up shop in the department store’s Designer Street Room, the pop-up titled “ERYS PRESENTS: EVERYTHING BAD FOR YOU” will play host to the American artist’s ERYS & MSFTS merch alongside 100 exclusive t-shirts printed with ERYS iconography to celebrate the event. Ever the man to give back, Jaden is also asking attendees to bring in clothing donations which will then go to Centrepoint charity for young homeless youths. KITH IS ABOUT TO DROP ITS DEF JAM CAPSULE

One of the instant highlights from KITH’s New York Fashion Week show was its Def Jam collaboration, and you won’t have to wait much longer to make it yours. Highlighting the capsule is a jacket inspired by the piece originally developed by co-founder Rick Rubin. The luxe, limited-edition piece, which was made in conjunction with Golden Bear, features chainstitch embroidery, leather sleeves, and chenille patches. Also dropping are two hoodies and two T-shirts with the label’s iconic turnarm insignia, which is stripped down to the basics for the latter piece. The jacket will be priced at $675, the hoodies $160, and the t-shirts $65. They’ll all drop at 11 a.m. EST on KITH’s website and in stores, so make sure you act quickly.

THEBE MAGUGU BECOMES FIRST AFRICAN DESIGNER TO WIN LVMH PRIZE

African Fashion Spotlight. Arguably one of the most coveted prizes for an aspiring designer, LVMH announced the winner of their annual prize yesterday with the first-ever African designer Thebe Magugu taking home the prize money and invaluable mentorship. Presented by LVMH ambassador Alicia Vikander, South African born Thebe will be awarded a €300,000 grant alongside a dedicated team from the fashion conglomerate to assist with the growth and development of his brand. Speaking on the announcement, executive vice president of Louis Vuitton Delphine Arnault said; “I am delighted that, for the first time, an African candidate has won the Prize, all the more so since Thebe Magugu, aged 26, is the youngest designer of the 2019 selection. His creative work appropriates the codes of menswear and womenswear, of the traditional and the experimental, playing with volumes and traditional South-African know-how.” Alongside Thebe, Israeli designer Hed Mayner took home the Karl Lagerfeld Prize which offers up €15,000 as well as a year-long mentorship also.
