LeBron James To Open Own Museum in Akron in 2023
LeBron James‘ most recent announcement shows that the NBA star continues to make a mark both on and off the basketball court.
The Los Angeles Lakers starter’s foundation revealed that he would be opening the LeBron James Museum in his hometown of Akron in 2023. Sports memorabilia company Upper Deck, will reportedly be involved in the curation of the exhibit in the museum. USA Today reports that the museum will be part of a transformation of the former Tangier entertainment complex in Akron, expected to be rebranded as House Three Thirty. The museum will take over the basement of House Three Thirty, which will also be home to other restaurants, bars and retail spaces.
Visitors to the LeBron James Museum will be able to walk through a visual journey of his life growing up in Akron’s Springhill Apartments to winning accolades and championships at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School up to his NBA career. The exhibit place will also give fans a chance to take a look at James’ off-court business ventures including his most recent entertainment endeavors. Right before visitors enter the museum, they will pass through a path that highlights the efforts of the LeBron James Family Foundation.
While James’ NBA career seems far from over, the museum will act as a celebration of his endeavors thus far.
