Louis Vuitton Drops a Trio of "LV Comics Earrings" That Are Inspired by Abloh's Core Themes
For better or for worse, Virgil Abloh has taken Louis Vuitton (PARIS:MC.PA -1.52%) to new heights, introducing oddities such as the coffee cup and carrot-shaped bags as well as jewelry that has adorned the necks, wrists, and ears of anyone who’s anyone, and now for Fall/Winter 2021, the label releases its “LV Comics Earrings.”
Coming straight from the FW21 “Ebonics / Snake Oil / The Black Box / Mirror, Mirror” collection, this trio of earrings are inspired by the house’s seasonal themes of travel and architecture — two things that prevail throughout Abloh’s catalog of work. As a result, the trio includes the LV initials, an airplane featuring the Monogram Flower motif debossed into it, and a hammer that dangles from the aforementioned flower emblem.
Each piece is made from metal and is colored in either shiny silver or gold, and has been polished for a dazzling finish. Each is backed onto a standard ear piercing fastener.
As of writing, the LV Comics Earrings have sold out online but are due for a restock, however, they are available in-store in the U.K. for £335 GBP (approx. $465 USD).
