Virgil Abloh’s Third and Final Collaboration With Mercedes-Benz Is Here
Following the first look at Mercedes-Maybach and Virgil Abloh's final collaboration, the full range is now revealed.
Marking the final chapter of Project MAYBACH, designed and created by Virgil Abloh himself alongside Mercedes-Benz Group AG Chief Design Officer Gorden Wagener last year, and was finalized shortly before Abloh's tragic passing in November.
The collaboration includes another Mercedes-Maybach and is set to be revealed within the next few days. The car which has been teased on Instagram has also inspired a capsule collection in collaboration with Off-White™, taking design cues from the Project MAYBACH electric show car, which has been called the "ultimate legacy car."
Of course, there's plenty more to the still-to-be-revealed car than just its unique design.
The apparel range released alongside the car includes a co-branded hoodie in the same sand tone as the car with a vintage wash, as well as a matching canvas cap, half-brushed cotton fleece sweatshirt, and gloves with blue "ABLOH" velcro straps across the wrists made from neoprene and suede.
The limited-edition S-Class and capsule collection marks Virgil Abloh's third and final collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, and his second with Mercedes-Maybach, and left plenty of positive impact on the label itself.
Abloh's collaboration marked a new era of innovation for Mercedes, and put emphasis on new technology and sustainability, which has inspired the label for future projects. Despite the Virgil Abloh collaboration coming to an end, his influence will be felt for years to come at Mercedes-Benz.
The apparel collection will be available starting April 5 online at Off-White™ as well as on Farfetch and Maybach Icons of Luxury online stores. Additionally, the capsule will also be on sale at select Off-White™ stores.
