Snoop Dogg Announces New Album 'Missionary' Produced by Dr. Dre

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are officially reuniting for Snoop’s upcoming album, Missionary.

The Long Beach rapper confirmed the news during his recent appearance on Stephen A. Smith’s Know Mercy podcast, “You’re the first one to hear this: Me and Dr. Dre have been working on an album for the past two months, and it’ll be done in November.” He continued, “And it’s produced by Dr. Dre. It’s our 30th anniversary to Doggystyle. And the name of the album is Missionary.” When asked about the title, Snoop simply responded, “The first album was Doggystyle.”

Rumors of Dr. Dre and Snoop’s return to music have been more commonplace than ever; earlier this April, shortly after Snoop officially became the owner of Death Row Records, the two shared photos of them in the studio. “The Chronic is bac home,” Snoop wrote on Instagram, leading many to believe that they were working on something big.

Doggystyle marked Snoop’s debut studio album and was released in November 1993 under Death Row Records and Interscope. Dr. Dre served as producer following the young rapper’s major appearance on The Chronic, and it went on to debut at No. 1 and become one of hip-hop’s most esteemed records.

Stay tuned for an official release date.
