LG To Unveil Two New Curved Display Concepts at CES 2022
LG Display will unveil two flexible OLED concepts at CES 2022, the world’s largest IT and home electronics show.
The first design, dubbed the “Virtual Ride,” includes a stationary bike and three vertical 55-inch OLED displays that connect as one continuous screen that spans from below and above the rider. The highest display boasts a 500R curvature radius, which is the most extreme curve to exist for a large screen, according to the company.
The second design, named the “Media Chair,” features a recliner with an attached 55-inch OLED TV. Equipped with a 1,500R curvature, the display arrives with the company’s Cinematic Sound OLED technology, which allows the device to produce sound without external speakers. Additionally, an armrest touchscreen control panel allows the user to switch between portrait and landscape viewing orientations.
In both concepts, the OLED display is crafted with tens of millions of self-emitting pixels, which eliminate the need for a separate backlight and allow for bendable, foldable and rollable display designs.
At the time of writing, CES 2022 is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas from January 5 to January 8.
