SZA Says She’s Completed Her Highly-Anticipated Sophomore Album

After 13 nominations, SZA won her first GRAMMY last night. The singer was awarded Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her upbeat single with Doja Cat “Kiss Me More.” The song dropped in April of last year with a dreamy and futuristic music video of the two artists.

Coming off of the major win, she also gave Variety an update following the awards ceremony on forthcoming music. Asked about her sophomore LP, the singer said she had “just actually finished it up in Hawaii recently” and “it’s coming soon.”

“I think it’s my most unisex album. I think it’s for everyone,” she added. “It’s definitely for everybody, in a different way.”

The last full-length project fans received from SZA was her debut studio album, 2017’s CTRL. Out via Top Dawg Entertainment and RCA Records, the record featured guest appearances from Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, James Fauntleroy and Isaiah Rashad. It also landed the singer a nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 60th GRAMMY Awards in 2018.
